The Connection, an award-winning tabloid-sized newspaper published four times a year, provides information pertinent to Shaker Square neighborhoods that include the Apartment Corridor, Boulevard, Larchmere, Ludlow and CHALK.

The newspaper assists Shaker Square Area Development Corporation in achieving its mission to preserve the Shaker Square neighborhoods by keeping its audience informed of news and events that directly and indirectly affect them. Each issue also includes a list of community resources, columns on the different neighborhoods, profiles of SHAD members and community event listings. Also, each spring issue includes the newspaper’s annual Apartment Guide, an invaluable resource for apartment seekers.

The Connection is the positive voice for an involved neighborhood striving to be all that is required to bring people together, keep residents and attract consumers. SHAD distributes 7,500 copies of each issue to more than 80 high-traffic, strategically chosen locations, including area businesses, restaurants, libraries throughout and around Shaker Square and Larchmere, in both Cleveland and Shaker Heights. The Connection is mailed first class to dues-paying members to SHAD and also is distributed at special events. Current and past issues are accessible on the SHAD website at www.shad.org or pick up a current copy at the Harvey Rice Branch Library.
